It’s not the kind of title you expect to see on The Vibes, so let’s embrace the unexpected for a moment here. The remaining movies which accompany Goldfrapp’s Tales Of Us album were leaked recently, and for just a fleeting moment I was able to steal some screen caps from the video for Jo, which seems to be about split personalities and murderous passion. The result is this imaginary movie poster, continuing the horror theme which snakes through the album.
This is one of the stand out tracks from Goldfrapp’s Tales of Us album, remixed by me, rocking the tribal flavour and adding a few angry mobs here and there. Sit back and grab a burning torch – it’s Thea, the Totem mix! (Video now showing here)
California, England. It’s not where you expect to find a California, but there it is, clinging to the Norfolk cliffs, next to Scratby. We would tell our schoolfriends we went to California every year on vacation, slightly forgetting to mention it was 6000 miles to the right of the one in the States. And marginally less glamorous. Or hot. This is the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, the highlight of every childhood summer holiday.

A relic from the 70s, when the world was high on Star Wars and the fair was a riot of screaming colour and noise.

Due to land in early September, the new album from electronic duo Goldfrapp sounds like the best of their astral debut Felt Mountain and the psychedelic classic Seventh Tree blended into a unique signature sound. Oh how terribly English! This week I went back to Shaun’s allotment, which is now in full bloom. Because Brit Summer is such an unpredictable lass, the nation tends to go slightly crazy when the sun comes out, and you all know how I like my rays. I grab the beautiful details with my phone, usually at random, and record them here so you can all see how I view the world. It’s not a charmed life that I lead, so I appreciate those little glimpses of beauty – nature in full parade.
