Harvey Milk – Gay Superhero

Harvey Milk Day Celebration

Celebrating the most dynamic and wonderful man, a man who the world still needs today. He was the world’s first honestly gay politician. And he was murdered by a colleague who would be deemed psychotic by today’s standards. There are too many hate-filled religious lunatics preaching fear and intolerance. The fight for equality means that gay people are still enduring their own civil rights movement. In 2013. We may think we are living in the future, with its information superhighway and particle accelerators, but a lot of people are condemned to live in the past. By people who should know better. To those bigots I say ‘Stop obsessing about what other people do in bed and get a life of your own.’

Peace.

The Church of the Poison Mind

Gay Marriage Equality SymbolRemember when interracial marriage was illegal? Hopefully, one day soon, this fight for the most basic of civil rights will be consigned to the same shameful page of history.

Happy Spring Equinox!

Happy Ostara CardThe Rites of Spring, celebrated by our earliest ancestors, worshipping Mother Nature. Most Easter rituals have been imported from their Pagan predecessors, such as the ancient fertility symbols of the egg and the hare, or rabbit. It’s as old as early man first recognising the significance of the change in season and the passing of winter. Easter has been celebrated for less than 2000 years, although chocolate doesn’t appear in the Bible, I’m sure it will do soon!

Moving the Mountain

Buddha by Mark Wallis on The VibesI’m living amongst a mountain of boxes, having moved from the buzzing metropolis to leafy suburbia. While I wait for my life to magically unpack itself, I’m having to manage without an internet connection. I’m wired to the world, but only by iPad which would explain why The Vibes has gone a little quiet. Thanks for all the messages regarding my recent appearance on the WordPress Blog, and I’m working my way through all your design requests this weekend. Thanks for being patient! Buddha finally seems to be smiling.
