A few years ago I was lying in the bath listening to a dreamy instrumental by Grace Jones. Thanks to my musical OCD (nothing’s ever right!) I transformed Don’t Cry it’s Only the Rhythm from the Slave to the Rhythm album into a vocal version by stealing bits from other tracks on the LP. I think it works really well, even if it does go a bit loopy towards the end. Here’s the video I made from found footage…

This is another shot from my Chorlton photo diary. We wandered round the village on Sunday, pretending it’s spring and loving the winter sun because it’s Britain and we all know this might actually count as summer this year. It’s so close to the city, yet it feels like the country. I’m beginning to lose my urban headache and feel the peace settling around me.
Love: the small print
Love: can be nurtured and grown naturally, or effectively extinguished by Hollywood Miracles. Chocolate is not a substitute for a healthy relationship, but can be included as part of a balancing act. Love may rise and fall according to hormone levels and financial security. Objects may appear larger in retrospect than they actually are. It was a costume party. There was some very poisonous vodka. And professional photographers. The rest is just a blur, really. Wear a wig, said the invitation. As an alternative to drag, I actually believed I had the ingenuity and social poise of John Lennon. Unfortunately people thought I was Ozzie Osbourne. Which would mean Panos is Sharon, only not as hairy.
