The Wheel and Mrs Peel

Robert Peel Statue and The Big Wheel in Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens by Mark Wallis
“I can’t seem to get a decent wifi signal on my tablet since they put that infernal wheel in the back yard, Robert.”

Between the statues of Robert Peel and Queen Victoria stands a giant ferris wheel, towering over Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens. It’s not quite The London Eye, but I think it’s inevitable that I’m going to grab my new camera and end up in one of those pods on a sunny day. That’s how we roll on The Vibes. Would you expect anything less?

Mrs. Peel is upstaged by a circus ride. I’m calling her Mrs. Peel, but she’s actually Lady Scientia. Latin, you know. She symbolises science and art.John Rylands Library Manchester by Mark Wallis
And finally a glance at the gothic monument that is the John Rylands Library on Deansgate. Which I think deserves a post of it’s own.

  1. Oh, boy! Multiple adventures in one post, once again! Great stuff, Mark. Thanks for sharing. 😀

    • I can’t go anywhere without stopping to take a few pictures, and I got a fancy new camera for Christmas, so I think 2014 could be quite colourful, Kathryn! (once I read the instruction manual….)

Let me know what you think...
